I created one thousand icons for the TTRPG video game One More Multiverse to use throughout their UI. These icons represent spells, abilities, and game mechanics.
Overview
One More Multiverse wanted to create a library of icons that would represent specific spells and concepts in the TTRPGs Dungeons and Dragons and Blades in the Dark. They also wanted to include icons that were general enough that they could be used in other contexts within the platform.
These icons needed to be versatile enough that they could be displayed at a range of sizes for different menus and contexts, with the smallest size being about 16px, and the largest display size about 1 inch on screen.
Working with the UI designer, I established design conventions so the icons would look consistent throughout the platform, but could allow for enough detail to represent a wide variety of objects and concepts.
I created all icons in Adobe Illustrator, then imported the svg files into the online app IcoMoon. (IcoMoon created a vector font from the icons.) I used Figma to present sketches and organize final icons within the design system.
